No hints needed: the solver finds the position, scale, rotation and mirroring by itself. The result appears here with an RA/Dec grid and matched stars.
The panel will fetch from CDS in Strasbourg a sky-survey cutout in exactly the geometry of this frame. Only the coordinates and WCS parameters are sent. The image itself stays on this computer.
Rotation is the position angle of the top of the frame, measured from north through east (N→E), for the image as displayed. Mirrored tells whether the image on screen is a mirror view of the sky. Pixels in the JSON are zero-based; the .wcs header adds 1 to CRPIX.
The panel runs locally and sends nothing beyond this server. The only exception is the sky comparison: after you agree, the browser fetches a survey cutout from CDS (Strasbourg), sending the coordinates and the geometry of the frame, never the image itself.
The solver needs a key (sk_…). It is kept in this browser only and sent to this server with each solve.
