In short. Skyshot Solver determines the sky position, scale and orientation of an astronomical image (plate solving) and returns a WCS solution. The browser panel, the demo and the free account cost nothing. Images are processed in your browser; only star positions reach the solver. A result is returned only when it passes verification, so an image can remain unsolved. The free account gives up to 100 solved images per calendar month and can be deleted at any time.

1. Provider

The services are provided by Afterstate PSA, ul. Plac Europejski 2, 00-844 Warszawa, Poland (“we”), e-mail hello@afterstate.ai. These Terms are the regulations for services provided by electronic means under Art. 8 of the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on providing services by electronic means. They apply to everyone who uses skyshot.app (“you”).

2. Services

2.1 Browser panel

The panel at skyshot.app/app reads FITS, JPEG, PNG and TIFF images up to 300 MB, detects their stars in your browser and sends only the star list (positions, brightnesses, image size) to the solver. A solved image is returned with its centre, pixel scale, rotation, parity and a TAN-SIP WCS, which you can view as an overlay and download.

2.2 Demo without a key

A demo token gives 20 solved images and at most 60 star lists, and is valid for 24 hours. One network address (IPv4, or an IPv6 /48 prefix) receives one token per 30 days. To get a token, your browser solves a short computational puzzle.

2.3 Free account

After you confirm your e-mail address with a 6-digit code, you receive a free API key. The free account gives:

up to 100 solved images per calendar month, free of charge;
fair-use limits that also count unsolved attempts: 400 star lists and 150 s of solver time per month, at most 30 s per day; each request is given at most 1 s of solver time;
up to 3 keys at a time (browsers or programs); a new key signs out the oldest.

An allowance not used in a month does not carry over. The limits stated in the version of these Terms that you accepted apply for the whole calendar month.

2.4 Keys issued individually

We may issue API keys under separate arrangements (for example for research or integration partners). Where such an arrangement says nothing else, these Terms apply.

2.5 Contact form

The contact form on skyshot.app sends your message to us. We reply by e-mail.

2.6 Content of other providers

The sky survey comparison (CDS, Strasbourg) and the demo video (YouTube) load only when you choose to use them. They are provided by those parties under their own terms.

3. Technical requirements

A current version of a web browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly enabled (for example Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) and an internet connection.
For the free account: an e-mail address at which you can receive messages.
For programs using the API: an HTTPS client that sends the key in the Authorization header.

4. Conclusion of the contract

Using the panel or the demo: the contract is concluded when you start using it and ends when you stop.
Free account: before a code is sent you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The main terms are repeated in the e-mail with the code. The contract is concluded when you enter the code (valid 15 minutes) and the key is issued.
You must be 16 or older to create a free account.

5. Rules of use

You use the services in accordance with the law and these Terms. You must not supply content of an unlawful nature. In particular, you must not:

probe the solver automatically, i.e. send star lists that do not come from images in order to map the index or the method;
resell access or make it available to others, or publish a key;
circumvent the limits or protections (for example with several accounts, rotating network addresses or by bypassing the puzzle);
attack, overload or disrupt the service.

Treat your key like a password: anyone who has it can use your allowance. If a key leaks, delete the account in the panel or write to us.

6. Results and liability

The solver returns a solution only when its verification accepts it; otherwise the result is “unsolved” or “ambiguous”. We do not guarantee that a given image will be solved or that the service will be available without interruption.
The services are not intended for navigation or other uses where an error can endanger people or property.
The results (coordinates, WCS) are yours to use without restriction.
The services are free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage or lost profits. This does not limit liability for damage caused intentionally, nor any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

7. Availability and changes to the service

The service may be briefly unavailable during maintenance or updates. We may change or end the services. We will announce the end of the free account programme in the panel and in the API (/v1/info) at least 30 days in advance.

8. End of the contract

Deletion. You can delete the free account in the panel at any time, without giving a reason and at no cost (a code is sent to the account’s address to confirm). Deletion is also your withdrawal from the contract. Its keys stop working at once.
Expiry. A free account expires 12 months after its last solve, or 12 months after its creation if it never solved an image. Expiry is automatic and no notice is sent.
Disabling. We may disable an account and its keys for automated probing, resale, a publicly shared key, circumventing the limits or attacks on the service (Section 5). Disabling is decided by a person; you may file a complaint (Section 9).

What we keep after the end of an account is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Complaints

Send complaints to hello@afterstate.ai. Describe the problem and when it occurred; for a free account, give the account’s e-mail address. Never send your key. We reply by e-mail within 14 days of receiving the complaint.

If you are a consumer, you may also use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, for example the help of a municipal or county consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or a consumer organisation.

10. Changes to these Terms

Each version of these Terms has an identifier (this one: 2026-10), and each free account records the version it accepted.
A material change applies to a free account only from its next calendar month and only after you accept it in the panel. The current month always runs on the version you accepted. Until you accept, the key does not start a new month.
Changes that do not affect your rights (for example corrections of wording) are published here with a new date.
Earlier versions are available on request.

11. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer whose habitual residence is in another country of the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of that country’s law. Disputes are resolved by the competent common courts. The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

These Terms apply from 10 October 2026.

Zdjęcia są przetwarzane w Twojej przeglądarce; do solvera trafiają tylko pozycje gwiazd. Wynik jest zwracany tylko wtedy, gdy przejdzie weryfikację, więc zdjęcie może pozostać nierozwiązane. Darmowe konto daje do 100 rozwiązanych zdjęć w miesiącu kalendarzowym i można je w każdej chwili usunąć.

1. Usługodawca

Usługi świadczy Afterstate PSA, ul. Plac Europejski 2, 00-844 Warszawa („my”), e-mail hello@afterstate.ai. Niniejszy dokument jest regulaminem świadczenia usług drogą elektroniczną w rozumieniu art. 8 ustawy z dnia 18 lipca 2002 r. o świadczeniu usług drogą elektroniczną. Obowiązuje każdego, kto korzysta z skyshot.app („Ty”).

2. Usługi

2.1 Panel w przeglądarce

Panel pod adresem skyshot.app/app wczytuje zdjęcia FITS, JPEG, PNG i TIFF do 300 MB, wykrywa na nich gwiazdy w Twojej przeglądarce i wysyła do solvera tylko listę gwiazd (pozycje, jasności, wymiary zdjęcia). Rozwiązane zdjęcie wraca ze środkiem pola, skalą, obrotem, parzystością i WCS TAN-SIP, które można obejrzeć jako nakładkę i pobrać.

2.2 Demo bez klucza

Token demo daje 20 rozwiązanych zdjęć i najwyżej 60 list gwiazd i jest ważny 24 godziny. Jeden adres sieci (IPv4 albo prefiks IPv6 /48) dostaje jeden token na 30 dni. Aby go otrzymać, Twoja przeglądarka rozwiązuje krótkie zadanie obliczeniowe.

2.3 Darmowe konto

Po potwierdzeniu adresu e-mail 6-cyfrowym kodem otrzymujesz darmowy klucz API. Darmowe konto daje:

do 100 rozwiązanych zdjęć w miesiącu kalendarzowym, bezpłatnie;
limity uczciwego korzystania, do których liczą się też nieudane próby: 400 list gwiazd i 150 s pracy solvera miesięcznie, najwyżej 30 s dziennie; jedno zapytanie dostaje najwyżej 1 s pracy solvera;
do 3 kluczy jednocześnie (przeglądarki lub programy); nowy klucz wylogowuje najstarszy.

Niewykorzystana pula nie przechodzi na kolejny miesiąc. Przez cały miesiąc kalendarzowy obowiązują limity z zaakceptowanej przez Ciebie wersji regulaminu.

2.4 Klucze wydawane indywidualnie

Możemy wydawać klucze API na podstawie odrębnych ustaleń (na przykład dla partnerów naukowych lub integracyjnych). W zakresie nieuregulowanym w takich ustaleniach stosuje się ten regulamin.

2.5 Formularz kontaktowy

Formularz kontaktowy na skyshot.app przekazuje nam Twoją wiadomość. Odpowiadamy e-mailem.

2.6 Treści innych dostawców

Porównanie z przeglądem nieba (CDS, Strasburg) i film demonstracyjny (YouTube) ładują się dopiero wtedy, gdy zdecydujesz się ich użyć. Dostarczają je te podmioty na własnych warunkach.

3. Wymagania techniczne

Aktualna wersja przeglądarki z włączonym JavaScriptem i WebAssembly (na przykład Chrome, Edge, Firefox lub Safari) i połączenie z internetem.
Do darmowego konta: adres e-mail, na który możesz odbierać wiadomości.
Dla programów korzystających z API: klient HTTPS wysyłający klucz w nagłówku Authorization.

4. Zawarcie umowy

Panel i demo: umowa zostaje zawarta z chwilą rozpoczęcia korzystania i kończy się, gdy przestajesz z nich korzystać.
Darmowe konto: przed wysłaniem kodu akceptujesz ten regulamin i Politykę prywatności. Najważniejsze warunki powtarzamy w wiadomości z kodem. Umowa zostaje zawarta z chwilą wpisania kodu (ważnego 15 minut) i wydania klucza.
Darmowe konto może założyć osoba, która ukończyła 16 lat.

5. Zasady korzystania

Korzystasz z usług zgodnie z prawem i tym regulaminem. Zakazane jest dostarczanie treści o charakterze bezprawnym. W szczególności nie wolno:

automatycznie sondować solvera, czyli wysyłać list gwiazd niepochodzących ze zdjęć, aby odtworzyć indeks lub metodę;
odsprzedawać dostępu ani udostępniać go innym, ani publikować klucza;
obchodzić limitów ani zabezpieczeń (na przykład kilkoma kontami, zmienianiem adresów sieci lub omijaniem zadania obliczeniowego);
atakować, przeciążać ani zakłócać działania usługi.

Traktuj klucz jak hasło: każdy, kto go ma, może korzystać z Twojej puli. Jeśli klucz wycieknie, usuń konto w panelu albo napisz do nas.

6. Wyniki i odpowiedzialność

Solver zwraca rozwiązanie tylko wtedy, gdy przyjmie je weryfikacja; w przeciwnym razie wynik to „nierozwiązane” albo „niejednoznaczne”. Nie gwarantujemy, że dane zdjęcie zostanie rozwiązane ani że usługa będzie dostępna bez przerw.
Usługi nie są przeznaczone do nawigacji ani innych zastosowań, w których błąd może zagrozić ludziom lub mieniu.
Wyniki (współrzędne, WCS) możesz wykorzystywać bez ograniczeń.
Usługi są bezpłatne. W granicach dopuszczonych przez prawo nie odpowiadamy za szkody pośrednie ani utracone korzyści. Nie ogranicza to odpowiedzialności za szkody wyrządzone umyślnie ani praw przysługujących Ci jako konsumentowi na podstawie bezwzględnie obowiązujących przepisów.

7. Dostępność i zmiany usług

Usługa może być chwilowo niedostępna w czasie prac konserwacyjnych lub aktualizacji. Możemy zmieniać lub kończyć usługi. Zakończenie programu darmowych kont ogłosimy w panelu i w API (/v1/info) co najmniej 30 dni wcześniej.

8. Zakończenie umowy

Usunięcie. Darmowe konto możesz usunąć w panelu w każdej chwili, bez podawania przyczyny i bez kosztów (potwierdzasz kodem wysłanym na adres konta). Usunięcie jest też odstąpieniem od umowy. Klucze konta od razu przestają działać.
Wygaśnięcie. Darmowe konto wygasa 12 miesięcy po ostatnim rozwiązaniu albo 12 miesięcy po założeniu, jeśli nie rozwiązało żadnego zdjęcia. Wygaśnięcie następuje automatycznie i bez powiadomienia.
Zablokowanie. Możemy zablokować konto i jego klucze za automatyczne sondowanie, odsprzedaż, publicznie udostępniony klucz, obchodzenie limitów lub ataki na usługę (pkt 5). O zablokowaniu decyduje człowiek; możesz złożyć reklamację (pkt 9).

Co przechowujemy po zakończeniu konta, opisuje Polityka prywatności.

9. Reklamacje

Reklamacje przyjmujemy na adres hello@afterstate.ai. Opisz problem i kiedy wystąpił; w sprawie darmowego konta podaj adres e-mail konta. Nigdy nie wysyłaj klucza. Odpowiadamy e-mailem w ciągu 14 dni od otrzymania reklamacji.

Jako konsument możesz też skorzystać z pozasądowych sposobów rozpatrywania reklamacji i dochodzenia roszczeń, na przykład z pomocy miejskiego lub powiatowego rzecznika konsumentów albo organizacji konsumenckiej.

10. Zmiany regulaminu

Każda wersja regulaminu ma oznaczenie (ta: 2026-10), a każde darmowe konto zapisuje zaakceptowaną wersję.
Istotna zmiana dotyczy darmowego konta dopiero od kolejnego miesiąca kalendarzowego i dopiero po jej zaakceptowaniu w panelu. Bieżący miesiąc zawsze przebiega według zaakceptowanej wersji. Do czasu akceptacji klucz nie rozpoczyna nowego miesiąca.
Zmiany, które nie wpływają na Twoje prawa (na przykład poprawki redakcyjne), publikujemy tutaj z nową datą.
Wcześniejsze wersje udostępniamy na życzenie.

11. Prawo właściwe i spory

Regulamin podlega prawu polskiemu. Jeśli jesteś konsumentem i masz miejsce zwykłego pobytu w innym państwie Unii Europejskiej, zachowujesz ochronę bezwzględnie obowiązujących przepisów prawa tego państwa. Spory rozstrzygają właściwe sądy powszechne. Przetwarzanie danych osobowych opisuje Polityka prywatności.
