Identify the sky across a whole photo session on your Mac. Work locally or in the cloud, and connect the astronomy software you already use.

Discover more in every photo session.

Skyshot stays in your menu bar, with a separate workspace for your photos, folders and results.

Integrations

Connect the tools you already use.

PixInsight connector · macOS pilot

Plate solving inside your PixInsight workflow.

Connect PixInsight to Skyshot Desktop to solve the active image or a series, with native astrometry for SPCC.

Request pilot access

Install & pair

  • In Skyshot, open Integrations → Install & pair PixInsight
  • Open the connector in PixInsight 1.9.5 or later
  • Choose the active image, open images or a series of files
  • Solve locally or in cloud and save native astrometry

Pairing is automatic. The connector shares the agent, license and indexes with Skyshot. File batches save solved XISF copies.

Local API

Create a separate application token in the desktop app under Integrations. Allow access to the input folder, then send work to the agent on this computer.

curl http://127.0.0.1:8852/v1/capabilities \
  -H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_LOCAL_TOKEN'

The agent selects a licensed solver. Closing the workspace does not stop the queue.

Cloud API

Use your cloud API key for the hosted solver. The key identifies your account and its allowance; the desktop license controls which solvers the app can use.

curl https://skyshot.app/v1/me \
  -H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_CLOUD_KEY'

For cloud solving in the desktop app, add the cloud key in Settings. A local integration token and a cloud key are separate credentials.

Administration

Issue a signed license for a specific Skyshot installation, then deliver it to its user.

Sign in as an owner

Use an owner API key. It is exchanged for a session; the key is not saved in this browser.
